Description Of Work: The provider didn't do any work to my home. What he did that was so amazing to me was take the time to help me find contractors in my area to provide the services that I needed to be done. Even thou he didn't make any money off this job, he made it a point to make sure I was satisfied.

Description Of Work: I did use Waugh Custom Homes Inc. He matched the brick, he matched the roofing and he also included the living, dining room and kitchen areas along with another bathroom. He dug the footing himself by hand so he didn't cut into any piping.

Description Of Work: Ed Waugh Construction added approximately 400 square feet which encompassed a living room, kitchen and bathroom. His expertise in design helped us figure out the best possible utilization of space and created a beautiful place for my mom without infringing on our established home.

Description Of Work: Waugh Custom Homes repaired fire damage to our outdoor kitchen and reconstructed the area to a better than new condition. The team was professional in all their dealings both with the homeowners and a house sitter. Everyday prior to departure they cleaned the area to including washing the tile floor.

MY WIFE AND I WERE CONSIDERING CHANGING OUR FIREPLACE WHICH HAD A LARGE WOOD BURNING STOVE TO A FIREPLACE WITH GAS LOGS. THE MANTLE WHICH WAS ORIGINAL TO THE HOUSE ALSO NEEDED AN UPGRADE. WE THOUGHT AND THOUGHT AND DID THE NORMAL RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET. AS USUAL FOR US WE SPENT SO MANY HOURS TRYING TO COME UP WITH A DESIGN AND THEN ALONG COMES ED. MR ED WAUGH GAVE US A PROPOSAL THAT AT FIRST DID NOT SEEM EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR BUT IN THE END IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. ED CREATED A FIREPLACE WITH GAS LOGS AND A FURNITURE GRADE MANTLE/FIREPLACE FRONT THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND IS ALREADY GIVING US MANY HOURS OF HEAT AND JUST PLAIN FUN SITTING IN FRONT OF THE FIRE. ED IS BY FAR IN MY 66 YEARS THE BEST CARPENTER/DESIGNER/WOODWORKER WHATEVER YOU MAY CALL HIM THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF KNOWING. HE IS SUCH A TRUSTWORTHY AND HONEST PERSON. Thought I should write you a letter to let you know what a pleasurable experience you made for us in building our home.

All the time you and Michael spent making sure that everything was done correctly and that nothing was done outside of Florida building code specifications. When something was done wrong by the subs, you had them come back and correct their mistakes.

Also, I must mention that fact that you being the designer and the builder made everything a lot smoother. You did some beautiful designs for our home. The granite counter tops, the columns, the arches, the crown molding, all the windows, and the tile floors make our home one that we are proud to show off.

Ed, if you ever need to show someone the quality of work that you have done, please use our home as an example. Also, feel free to use our names as a reference.

I recently had a home built in Santa Rosa Beach by Ed Waugh and Michael Strength of Waugh Custom Homes. I have heard horror stories of some people's experiences with contractors, but working with Ed and Michael was a pleasure. They were both courteous, pleasant, and above all, honest.

Ed and Michael were dedicated to building a quality home, and made every effort to be sure that I was satisfied. I am very detail-oriented, and I am also an artist who wanted to incorporate my studio into my home. I was impressed with their willingness to work with me to create a home unique to my personal tastes and needs, truly a custom home and not a carbon copy.

They are meticulous craftsmen who take great pride in their work, qualities which seem to become more and more scarce in today's world. I have been pleased, as well, to observe that they stand behind their work. I am writing this letter so that anyone who is considering building a house or planning an addition to an existing dwelling, will give Waugh Construction an opportunity to show you what they can do. I contracted with Ed Waugh and his crew to do a 1500 square foot addition to my home. Although I did acquire other bids on this project, Ed was always the front runner because I had previous experience with his skill, knowledge and patience when it comes to making a customer happy.

I first met Ed several years ago when he completed a covered back porch and patio at my house. His expertise at adding something onto an existing structure and making it look like it had always been there was something to see. Not only did this project go well, but he noticed several ways to improve the appearance of my back yard and solved a chronic drainage problem in the process. I was impressed not only by the final appearance of my back porch and patio, but by the pains he took to insure structural integrity of everything he built. He even incorporated some built-in planters that really made my wife happy.

My parents took notice of the type of work that Ed did and contracted him to do a small project, including adding a large covered patio to an existing building. Ed and his crew did a good job and finished in record time. The attention to detail and the extra effort to please my parents on this project really sealed the deal in my mind on which company I would contract to build an addition onto my house.

Finally, I must comment on the workmanship employed on the addition to my own house. With the birth of a daughter, we quickly realized that more space was needed. After talking with several builders, I noticed that Ed was the only one who noticed that the elevation of the land could cause a problem in connecting the roof of the addition to the existing roof on my house. Ed solved the problem and the addition went smoothly. He also designed a laundry room and extra bedroom for us that have proven invaluable. We also converted our garage into a large family room with many built-in features that really added to the appearance and functionality of the living area of our house. Once again, Ed made my wife happy by designing a huge walk-in closet for her. During this entire process, Ed constantly informed me of each step of the construction and really worked with the subcontractors to insure a smooth running project. Many times Ed would notice ways to add convenience to our lives and incorporated these features into our addition. To say the least, the project went well and my family became friends with both Ed and his crew. Even the clean up after the construction was finished and done in a most orderly and neat fashion.

One more thing, and to me the most important, Ed Waugh is a man of honesty and integrity. You can believe what he says and never worry about being cheated or taken advantage of. In today's world of "making a buck," an honest contractor is a rare find. I encourage you to give Waugh Construction a try and decide for yourself if I speak the truth.
